With the start of the new You Can Adopt campaign, Cumbria Adoption joins the national campaign focusing on the message 'Every Day is Everything'.
Every child needs and should have a permanent family and home - but too many children are spending too much of their childhood without one, or never having one at all. You Can Adopt has launched this new campaign to show that adoption isn't about being perfect - it's about being there and showing up for a child every day. And for those who need adopting, every day is everything.
It's about the ordinary days - the morning rush, the mealtimes, the bedtime chats, the moments that may feel small... But for a child who has experienced upheaval and instability in their early life, being there - for the ups, downs and all the days ahead - means everything.
Children in need of adoption are spending an average of 646 days of their childhood in temporary care - days that could have been spent with their permanent family and home. That's nearly two years, and for a young child, that is a huge proportion of their life. And in early childhood, every day matters. We believe there's a permanent family out there for every child who needs one - they just haven't come forward yet.
You don't need to have everything figured out to start - but today could be the day you take the first step. This could be as simple as a friendly conversation or joining one of our online information events, with no pressure or commitment.
